“Are restaurants ok if I propose there first?” issue. This is the main issue when it comes to proposing a toast for your wedding reception. Restaurants should be OK with a groom first proposing to the bride.
My wife is a bit of a snob. She was really upset that my groom proposed to her first. But she understood that we live in a community where families get along. That’s what made her so angry, she could understand how that might upset some people.
If you are the groom and you are considering proposing to your bride first, you may want to consider doing it the traditional way. The grooms have been doing that since the time of the Ancient Romans. In the first toast they did not propose their bride, they announced it to all the guests “by the hero of the hour, dos box.” You can translate that to mean “I ask for your blessing, do me a favor.”
Some brides find that doing the first toast makes them nervous. They might even get a little bit upset. So they might decide not to go through with it. If that’s the case why not offer to do it the second time around?
Think about this scenario. Let’s say that you are really happy that your bride is from a family that does tradition such as this. She has grown up with it. When you first proposed to her she said “no” but you convinced her. So, when you do it the first time she will really like you proposing to her. You will get some laughs and maybe even get the chance to talk about family traditions.
Plus when you are doing the first toast everyone in the restaurant gets to hear you make a joke out of the event. Plus if you are doing a funny one you can get away with telling some stories from way back. Which will definitely be a lot of fun for everyone to hear.
One more thing to consider if you are wondering if restaurants are ok if I propose there is something else you can do. You can also propose right at your favourite restaurant! This is probably something that might not work for everybody. There is a good chance that if you get into a fight with the waiter or the owner of the restaurant that they might leave you alone. So you might want to think about this if you are nervous.
The point is that restaurants are not necessarily bad places to propose. It all depends on how you approach the whole situation. You should plan ahead and get the details worked out before you ask for the number to be raised. Plus don’t forget to have fun when you are proposing. Remember that it’s the first toast and it should be a great memory of your relationship. Don’t worry if you don’t get the answer the first time, chances are you will get it the second time around!
Just remember to be sincere when asking for the raise. You may be nervous and this can show through in your speech. If you get the answer right the first time then you may be too relaxed and you will sound like you don’t care. If you get it wrong then you may seem desperate which may not be the image you want to project to your partner!
The best thing you can do is to make a mental note of all the things you like about your partner. Make a list of all the things you like about them and then when you are standing in front of the mirror to get those feelings from your heart. This may be awkward but it will be good! You will be able to confront the issue when it comes up! Just remember not to overdo it!
If you are really nervous then you can just ask them to give you a hand behind the counter. Then, when you get up to ask your proposal you can point at your partner and say “Do you think we should Propose?”. This way you won’t sound desperate and they will have to take a chance to propose to you.
If you are sitting at a fine restaurant, it is worth taking a chance. You could ask the owner if you can make a romantic evening possible. If they say yes just go up to their tables and start chatting. When they feel comfortable to tell them you want to get married. That way you can be sure to get that all important omen!
