What Favours Should I Have?

Jarrod Gaiser by Jarrod Gaiser

in Important Things To Consider When Planning Your Wedding, Wedding Favours

Planning a wedding is very costly, especially when it comes to favours. They can cost up to several hundred dollars depending on what you are ordering. I’m sure you are aware of this, so you may be considering making do with what you have. There is however another option, and it is one that should be considered before you order anything. One that shouldn’t cost you as much as favours though, is a DIY wedding plan.

DIY is an abbreviation for Do It Yourself. It simply means that you will be able to plan, pay for and arrange everything yourself. One of the best advantages of planning your wedding yourself is that you can get as involved in the planning as you would like. The disadvantages of DIY however, are that you can end up spending a lot of money if you do things wrong, or if you are not careful about planning.

In this article though, I am going to look at DIY favours, and how they can cost you less than the usual high-priced ones. Because we are planning a wedding ourselves, we know that we can get more involved in the planning. This means that we are going to be much more likely to take suggestions and put them into practice, which will ultimately cost us less.

When planning a wedding, you need to consider whether you will have enough money for all the different things that need to be done. For example, a catering budget will affect your wedding favours, as well as what you buy for decorations, the reception and wedding favours for your guests. Because you can’t spend more than the wedding budget, this is the first thing to ask yourself. Do you have enough money to cover all of the wedding planning that needs to be done?

Once you’ve answered this question, you are free to think about other costs, such as for decorations. You will find that you can easily get more if you want, and probably even with a little extra investment. For example, if you are planning a themed wedding then it is quite easy to source your decorations. Most of the time you can even order them in bulk for a cheaper price. Again, think about what you will use them for. There are so many different types of decorations available that it is quite amazing.

The next thing to think about when you are planning your wedding is that you don’t need to spend a fortune on your wedding favours. There are so many different flavors available, from cheap to expensive, and it really depends on your budget that you choose the ones that you like best. Sometimes people will find that they don’t actually use them. Whilst some weddings are simple and have only a few wedding favours, others will be extravagant and will have very elaborate decorations. Just remember to try not to overspend, because it may end up hurting your feelings down the line!

Something else that you will want to think about when you are planning your wedding is which favours you should get, and who you should get them from. If you are planning a themed wedding then you will know what your wedding favours should be, but if you are undecided then it’s always good to ask your guests what they would prefer. You will also find that different people have different ideas about favours, and you don’t necessarily have to follow everyone’s advice. Sometimes it can be fun to mix and match, and you can give your guests different favours to suit their style. However, if you are not doing this it’s important to make sure that you know exactly what you should be getting.

Another thing that you may want to consider when you are asking yourself “what favours should I have?” is whether your wedding day is going to be big or small. If you are having a big wedding then you will almost certainly need to spend a lot of money on wedding favours, however it’s important not to spend too much money on these. If you have a small wedding then you will probably find that you can afford to buy more wedding favours for your guests, however you don’t want to spend so much that you end up hurting your pocket.
