WEST SPRINGFIELD — Sparkling gowns, ice sculptures, fashion shows, entertainment and more were a panacea for a year of no gatherings under the pandemic.
The 31st annual Springfield Wedding & Bridal Expo opened on Saturday in the Better Living Center at the Eastern States Exposition. The two-day extravaganza, which offers couples everything they need to plan their wedding, usually is held in January.
“I’d like to thank the Springfield Bridal Expo and its vendors for persevering over the past few months to make this event possible, Tim Garstka, ESE director of Sales, said. “I also thank the Town of West Springfield for their guidance, assisting our staff with all the safety planning to bring our patrons a safe and socially distanced show.”
More than 150 wedding and bridal vendors, designers and planners were on hand, offering a wide variety of styles and prices to suit every taste and wedding budget. Included were bridal shops, formal wear, photographers, videographers, florists, invitations, health and wellness, caterers, jewelers, disc jockeys, entertainment, make-up and hair stylists, travel agents, banquet facilities, wedding consultants, hotels, limousine services, gifts and more.
Visitors to the show can register on line for a chance at a grand prize and a code for $2 off admission to the show at jenksproductions.com/event/springfield-bridal-expo-discount-ticket/#bridal
Wesley Jenks, vice president of Jenks Productions, organizer of the event, said they are adhering to state indoor capacity restrictions by selling tickets in two time slots.
Morning sessions are from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and afternoon sessions are from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available online or at the door. Children under 12 are admitted free.
