Josh Duhamel Credits Fiancée, Audra Mari, With Wedding Planning

Josh Duhamel and his fiancée Audra Mari are dotting their I’s and crossing their T’s as they prepare to walk down the aisle.

Duhamel is looking to tie the knot with the stunning beauty pageant titleholder to whom he popped the big question on January 8.

In a recent interview, the husband-to-be spoke highly of Mari’s thorough wedding planning skills, as she handles details that are not in his forte.

While attending the For Your Consideration event for his new movie “The Thing About Pam” on the night of Wednesday, May 18, Duhamel gave details about planning for his bid day.

The lovestruck fiancé told PEOPLE that he and the Miss World America 2016 titleholder are in “full prep” mode for their upcoming nuptials.

When probed about if he finds the process of getting everything sorted out for the ceremony ahead enjoyable, Duhamel revealed that Mari is the driving force behind the planning. 

The “Life As We Know It” actor is grateful his fiancée is handling the preparations like a pro and gushed:

“Thankfully, she’s really good at it. I’m there to sort of answer questions or if she’s got questions about something.”

Duhamel seems to be more interested in making the American beauty his life partner than nitpicking about the details of their proposed wedding. He said:

“Most of the stuff I don’t care about. I just want there to be great music, I want to have people around that we love, and I want to be present.”

The “When In Rome” star sweetly noted that he plans to ensure that when the night finally comes, he is not overcome by the moment.

Duhamel buttressed, “I just want to be present and have a great time.” He does have one request, to make sure that Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan’s “Buy Dirt” is on the wedding playlist.

Mari and the “All My Children” actor have been in a relationship since he split from “Where Is The Love?” musician Fergie, who he married in 2009.

In September 2017, the exes broke the news of their breakup. Almost two years later, in May 2019, the “Black Eyed Peas” alum filed for dissolution of marriage.

An insider close to Mari described her to the publication as “very sweet, caring and close with her family.”

The source revealed that the model would “love to have kids” with her fiancé and is getting to know him and the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” singer’s son Axl Jack, 8.

Duhamel rivaled the role of one of his romantic movie characters when he turned on the charm to pop the question to Mari.

The Blast disclosed that the “Las Vegas” actor planned the proposal as a surprise for the model’s 28th birthday on January 8.

The “Buddy Games” actor shared an insight into the heartwarming moment via his Instagram page. He revealed that Mari found her proposal hidden in a bottle that washed ashore.

Duhamel attached a breathtaking image where he and his lover grinned happily at the camera in front of a picturesque sunset at the beach.

The birthday celebrant stood behind her loving fiancé and proudly held up the note she retrieved from the bottle. 

The message read, “Audra Diane Mari, will you marry me?” in what was likely the “Jupiter’s Legacy” actor’s handwriting. 

Duhamel gushed in the caption of the touching post, “It’s on!! She found a message in a bottle that washed ashore and said YES!! @audramari.”

The happy news brought about a hoard of comments from thousands of well-wishers who sent their love and congratulations to the upcoming spouses.

Fergie also sent her best wishes to the couple under the post showing that she and her former husband of eight years remain on the best of terms despite their split.

The winner of a whopping 8 Grammy Awards showed her love and support for the duo by writing, “Congrats!!!” alongside a couple of green heart emojis.

Following the dissolution of his marriage, sources revealed that Duhamel is “really” happy with his newfound love, who he never shies away from showing off to the world.
