Joe Freshgoods continues to be a breath of fresh air in the sneaker space as he has just collaborated with the skateboard-inspired brand Vault by Vans for his “The Honeymoon Stage” sneaker collection.
The Chicago-born designer who embodies the idea that “Black people are magic” prides himself on “using a unique blend of brand narrative, historical and cultural references, which allows him to create authentic connections with streetwear lovers all over the world.”
The 30-something-year-old has already worked with various brands such as New Balance and Converse, and now he’s expanding his horizons with a fresh assemblage with Vans. “The Honeymoon Stage” collection includes three colorways with a JFG-twist for the Style 36 LX silhouette, along with matching apparel pieces. The sneaker will be available in peach, red, and pink—inspired by the capsule’s motive of “love.”
JFG took on the original Vans silhouette with its checkerboard print and added his own flair with suede side panels and his “JFG” initials scattered throughout the shoe. If the reimagined classic sneaker isn’t enough, Freshgoods has consecutively included a few apparel items which are included in the photoshoot for the collection. It appears he will be selling a satin “Freshgoods Quality Garments” bowling shirt, track pants, and flame-embellished socks printed with a Joe Freshgoods and Vans logo.
Having recently released his collab with New Balance for his “Inside Voices” collaboration, Joe Freshgoods took on the New Balance 9060 model—which was a new addition to the New Balance brand—in colorways “Penny Cookie Pink” and the JFG-exclusive “Baby Shower Blue.”
A release date has yet to be announced by JFG or Vans, but he has confirmed that the entire collection will be available exclusively through his website, JoeFreshgoods.com.
