Princess Anne has a “lowkey” way of expressing her “clear affection” for her daughter Zara, according to bodylanguage expert Darren Stanton.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair, he said: “When Princess Anne is around Zara she shows great enjoyment in her face, which are genuine smiles of happiness.
“However, even so we still see that she’s not very tactile as we don’t see her hugging or kissing when interacting with her daughter, as it seems to be interactions of smiles and eye contact that Princess Anne exchanges in public.
“Despite her lowkey approach, there is clear affection between them.
“I think Princess Anne‘s relationship with her daughter is quite interesting because Zara does not have a title and tends to be on the periphery of the Royal Family.
“With that said, she seems to have the same determined personality as Princess Anne, something we see in her successful equestrian pursuits.
“It’s been reported that Princess Anne is quite outspoken, that she will say what she thinks and does not offer lip service and I tend to think Zara is potentially the same way, that she will tend to do and say what she likes, within reason.
“Princess Anne comes over as being very strong in her personality and resilient and I feel has rubbed off on Zara.
“They share a great passion and love all things equestrian so I think that is at the heart of the relationship and when they are in public they match and mirror each other perfectly.
“It’s evident there’s a great synergy between the two.”
