Ash Barty and Garry Kissick return from their two-week honeymoon in New Zealand

Newlyweds Ash Barty and Garry Kissick touched down in Brisbane on Sunday after enjoying a two-week honeymoon in New Zealand.

The 26-year-old tennis star looked delighted to be home as she donned a blue shirt and black trousers while making her way through the airport.

The Wimbledon champion had her brunette locks tied back in a ponytail and wore minimal makeup as she wheeled two suitcases and her carry-on through arrivals.

Meanwhile, partner Garry looked comfortable in a maroon jumper and navy pants.

He completed his look with white sneakers and a baseball cap as he pulled an oversized bag ahead of Ash. 

The heavy-duty duffel bag likely contained sporting equipment for their loved-up overseas jaunt.

While in New Zealand, Ash and Garry hit the slopes in Queenstown, before playing at various golf courses throughout the country.

Ash and Garry married in a private ceremony at a secret venue in Queensland.

The tennis great was surrounded by family and close friends when she tied the knot in July.

The newlyweds broke the news when they both shared a gorgeous wedding picture on Instagram, captioned: ‘Husband and wife’.

While in New Zealand, Ash and Garry hit the slopes in Queenstown, before playing at various golf courses throughout the country 

The guest list included a handful of fellow tennis stars including Pat Rafter, Casey Dellacqua and Alicia Molik.

Barty stunned in a Suzanne Harward-designed dress while Mr Kissick looked sharp in a black tux.  

Mr Kissick popped the question at their Queensland home last November, with the pair known for their laidback and down-to-earth lifestyle.

Mr Kissick was always by Barty’s side throughout her stellar tennis career 

The Australian tennis star met her husband at Brooklands Golf Club in Queensland in 2016 during a round of golf, and they have been together since. 

Mr Kissick works at the golf club, with Barty also a talent in the sport. 

Barty, despite being one of the best tennis players in the world, offers little insight into her world away from the sport – which she retired from earlier this year at the age of 26.  

Known for being notoriously private about her personal life and relationship, she recently opened up about Mr Kissick in an interview with Vogue.

‘He’s extremely patient with me, and when we met he didn’t know a lot about tennis,’ the 26-year-old said.

‘He’s kind of been thrown in the very deep end in understanding what the tour is like and how much we’re apart … [But] he’s the best person to have around in the sense of switching off from tennis and being able to bring the fun and laughter.

‘I certainly wouldn’t want to share this journey with anyone else.’

Mr Kissick had been by Barty’s side throughout her tennis career, and was one of the first people she embraced after winning last year’s Wimbledon in July.

The three-time Grand Slam winner stunned the world when she announced she was retiring from tennis in March.

The couple have since put their energy into building their multi-million dollar dream home in Ipswich, southwest of Brisbane.

The new home will be Barty’s third, with the athlete owning properties in neighbouring Springfield Lakes and Augustine Heights. 

Barty only recently returned to Australia after playing in the Icons Golf Series in the US, where she managed an impressive singles win over former NFL star Andrew Whitworth. 

She’s played in a few charity golf tournaments, written some children’s books and enjoyed simply being at home since walking away from tennis.
