Coronation Street – Tyrone and Fiz wedding outcome confirmed

Coronation Street spoilers follow from the Christmas Day special.

Coronation Street’s Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape have finally tied the knot in a romantic Christmas Day episode.

The couple have taken centre stage in the ITV1 soap’s main festive storyline this year, which saw Tyrone secretly plan a December 25 ceremony to marry Fiz.

Tyrone has spent the past few weeks keeping Fiz in the dark while he made the preparations with help from family and friends. Keen to preserve the secrecy, Tyrone sneakily let Fiz believe that he had nothing special planned for Christmas Day.

The mechanic’s deception worked too well, as Fiz grew upset over Tyrone’s apparent lack of interest in the holiday season. The final straw came when he mischievously presented her with a box of chocolates and a keyring as a half-hearted Christmas present.

Fiz headed out to buy a last-minute turkey, snubbing Tyrone’s suggestion of pizzas for their Christmas Day meal. Her trip ended in disaster when her car broke down on a country road.

Tyrone optimistically headed off to the wedding venue in the hope that Fiz would make it back on time, but gradually lost faith and sent the guests away.

With Fiz still oblivious to what was happening back home, she stopped a passing walker to explain her car predicament. The man – dressed in red – turned out to be a mysterious Santa-style figure called Chris Pringle.

Chris guided Fiz to a phonebox a mile away and suggested that she should call the vehicle recovery number from Tyrone’s keyring. Fiz realised fate was on her side as Chris pointed out that it clearly wasn’t such a bad present after all.

Following Chris’ intervention and a quick roadside rescue from Kevin Webster, Fiz made her way to the Chariot Square Hotel to exchange her vows with Tyrone.

Later, spirits were high at the Rovers Return as Tyrone and Fiz were introduced as husband and wife.

At the end of the evening, Tyrone and Fiz headed off for a night at Debbie Webster’s hotel.

Christmas magic was in the air as Fiz was surprised to spot an unexplained glimpse of her saviour, Chris, on the cobbles as the car pulled away for the journey.
